wearing brilliant colors on new wings that dry
in the warmth of a new day’s sun
and carry this reborn creature on its maiden voyage
in a gentle spring breeze,
so creative ideas were born in the safe space
of Mr. Fassi’s English class
where they were given time to take flight.
